Burglar rage against productivity culture on urgent new single Star-Crossed

Monday, 13 April 2026

Dublin duo Burglar's new single Star-Crossed is a lament against productivity culture and forced change, wrapped in an urgent demand - a brilliant preview to their debut UK tour.

Willow Hannon and Eduardo Pinhiero, together as Burglar, bonded over a shared love of Stereolab and Smashing Pumpkins, despite very different backgrounds - Willow in bedroom pop in Ireland, Eduardo in garage punk in Goiânia, central Brazil.

The pair's differences compliment each other over the intensity of the track, which starts with a sigh and builds into a rage.

'Make it go away, I don't want to hide inside', the pair harmonise, distinct and unified.

On Star-Crossed, Eduardo said: "It’s sad that we’re always encouraged to face our problems on our own, as if anything that isn’t you constantly being productive and working on yourself, was lame.

"I’m impatient, I’m afraid of the future, and all I’m trying to say with this song is that you don’t need big changes and reinventions all the time.

"You can stick around special people if they show up - there’s enough big changes out there."

Burglar's Star-Crossed is out now on TULLE. The band head out on a five-day, five-date debut UK tour later this month (April). Catch them while you can!
