Our Editorial Policy
Purpose
Devolved is an editorial website that exists to document music culture with passion, authenticity and creativity. While we are not regulated, we seek to publish material in line with the Editors' Code of Practice. We strive to deliver informative articles with accuracy, transparency and passion. The difference between opinion and fact will be clearly distinguished on the Devolved website. Reviews will be written and edited with integrity, avoiding malice. Devolved articles will disclose whether material benefits are received in the relevant article, and all editorial decisions will remain independent from outside influence. We do not accept editorial proof. Writers will avoid conflicts of interest, such as submitting material about artists with whom they have close personal or financial ties.
1. Editorial Principles
-
Accuracy: Best endeavours will be made to check facts, confirm details, and source reliable information before publication.

-
Opinion: As a music magazine, opinion is integral to our voice. Reviews and commentary are subjective but will be written with integrity, avoiding malice or personal attacks.
-
Transparency: If material benefits are received (free tickets, promotional copies, press invites), these will be disclosed within the relevant article.
-
Independence: Editorial decisions remain independent of advertisers, sponsors, or outside influence.
3. Editorial Conduct
-
Writers will avoid conflicts of interest, such as reviewing material where they have close personal or financial ties to the artist.

Respect for copyright applies: use of music, lyrics, or images will follow UK “fair dealing” law for criticism and review.
